I have been searching for go to versions of Italian beans and greens (with pasta) - one brothy and one more stew-like. Both are just the thing for these Winter months.
Thank you for the lentil recipe links - lentils are another favorite!
Excellent idea...I love beans and greens. There's a recipe in my book Everyday Italian called Colorful Beans and Greens, with rainbow chard and cannellini beans...But of course the possibilities are endless!
Yes from me...adding some new things but not leaving out the delicious recipes that you've been doing. I love pasta and always will and it's a regular weekly menu item, most often meatless. A bit more often the summer farmer's market has so many wonderful veggies to make into a sauce. Happy New Year Domenica!
Yay to more healthful recipes--though many of yours are anyway. I eat mostly vegetarian, so I always have to modify recipes that require a boost of flavor from pork products. And we love, love, love beans--especially Marcella beans. Buon Anno!
We have almost polished off our batch of Vov -- it’s such a delight. Thank you for bringing it into our holiday lives!
Yes to a mix up of recipes that include non pasta options, although I’m not a fan of branding of pasta as not healthy / less healthy. Maybe that’s not what you meant though!
I agree totally that pasta belongs in a healthful diet. For me, I think it's more about portion control and ratio of carbs to other nutrients. Also, it's easy to make pasta exceedingly rich (pancetta, cream, ragùs, eggs, lots of cheese), which I have been guilty of doing! So glad to know you enjoy the Vov. Cic cin and buon anno!
Colorful Beans and Greens looks good. Will try it soon!
Enjoy!
Happy New Year, Domenica!

Love those summer vegetable sauces. HNY!
Thank you! I don’t eat pork or beef. So looking forward to these recipes!
i wondered about that...the soup is vegetarian and can even be vegan if you use veg broth.
Yay! Lentil recipes please
I love lentils! In fact, we had sausage and lentils last night, an early New Year dinner before our son headed back to Vermont. Here’s the recipe: https://www.domenicacooks.com/blog/2017/12/lucky-lentils-for-the-new-year
And a recipe for classic lentil soup: https://www.domenicacooks.com/blog/2011/10/garlicky-lentil-soup-with-croutons
I like the idea of developing more lentil recipes...stay tuned...

Great ~ Really pleased to see the positive responses to this!
Pasta made with vegetables is a healthy meal. Just make it with more veggies and less pasta.
Pasta is a staple in our house. We make it with oil and garlic as well as with various tomato sauces.
I'd be ostracized if I didn't make pasta at least once a week. lol.
Happy New Year!
Ha! Yes, I agree pasta is a must-have, and I'm enjoying it in more judicious portions. I like your idea of more veggies/less pasta. Win-win!
Yes please on more healthy recipes!
Great ~ thanks for your feedback!
Would love some inspiration for healthful, tasty meatless &/or pasta-less dishes. I

Vegetarian flavor "boosts" is a nice idea to explore. Thank you for the inspiration, Suzanne! I have yet to try those Marcella beans...
