The last McDonald’s I was at was a million years ago in Morocco where I ate a McArabia enemy though I was thousands of miles away from the Arabian peninsula. I do not regret it.
My parents married on Derby day in 1951! While you’re at the races, I’m watching the Giro d’italia pass through various parts of Abruzzo (from my sofa in Adelaide, not Italy this year). Enjoy your pausa. MLT
Thank you. It was an unforgettable day and weekend. My pick didn't win the big race, but we won a bit in some of the earlier races (and lost in others). i am not a better but I did enjoy watching the races and the people in the stands.
Please send a pic of you in your hat!
My hat was the most sedate one there. There were some spectacular ones, though!

Dare I ask what a McArabia is?
I think it was a spiced lamb patty with yogurt and harissa sauce wrapped in a pita-like bread. Maybe?
That actually sounds good.

HAHAHA that's an old one, back when McDonald's still had meat in their burgers!
How fantastic, I need pictures of you in your Derby Hat!
My hat was nothing compared to others. Some were truly exquisite confections!
How exciting to be in Louisville for Derby day! I hope the ray was filled with lots of pretty hats & mint juleps 🌹🌹🌹
The hats (not mine) were truly something to behold. And all the dapper suits!

Oh wow! You must have some wonderful photos. I often wonder about these old venues and what they must have been like in their heyday.
Grazie, Domenica. Come sempre, tante belle cose a mangiare!
Prego & my pleasure
